This intermediate contemporary snare drum solo is an interesting and creative work that incorporates multiple time signatures, non-traditional rhythmic groupings, the full dynamic range, and various types of strokes. Students will find this solo challenging, musically rewarding, and offers them a chance to demonstrate their snare drum proficiency, musical expression, and interpretation. This solo would be effective for teaching creative cadenza-like playing. A great work for the percussion "hot-shot".
