"Midnight Musings" is my love letter to the beauty of the night. Throughout my life, I have felt a deep connection to the universe when the sheer veil of nighttime allows me to gaze into the star-spotted heavens above us. It's such a spiritual, glorious occasion, and these poems reflect specific emotional experiences enhanced by the night's energy. "What Do I Care for Morning" comically captures my adoration for the peacefulness of nighttime, and "To Sleep" reminds me of my mother singing lullabies to me as a child, shielding me from the harsh realities of life. However, nighttime can also heighten painful emotions. "Moon Tonight" represents the grieving of losing a loved one, and "The Star Dial" explores the loneliness of unrequited love. All of these experiences gain deeper nuance during the dark hours of the night, and I have found music to be the most illuminating way to communicate such feelings.
