Midnight Stars Make Bright

In this distinctive arrangement, the simple, flowing Chinese melody is introduced with optional chimes, set beneath an ostinato-like pattern on upper bells played with mallets. After a modulation, a second ostinato pattern is introduced, played by optional chimes, while the melody is played as a round on the bells. Both stanzas are supported throughout by a sustained pedal figure in the low bells. The optional flute and chime tree add yet more color to the palette, contributing to the subdued nature of the arrangement.  For Christmas/Epiphany with ptional 3 octaves handchimes, flute (or other C treble instrument), and chime tree (or wind chimes.)
