Missa Ruralis, Op. 6, No. 3

Marianus Konigsperger, who worked as a lay brother in the Benedictine monastery of Prufening, composed this "rural Mass" in F major to be a melodically memorable and easily singable Latin Mass for smaller church choirs. Individual passages in the soprano and bass, which can also be sung as solos, provide variety and also make a performance with a very small setting possible. This is a well-composed little Mass with simple means that can complement every church service, even today.
