From Doug Beach, this chart was a commission by the Jazz Division of the Illinois Music Educators Association for the 2006 All-State Jazz Ensemble, dedicated to the memory of Frank Mantooth.  This up-tempo swing chart features a brisk and crisp style, an attention-grabbing sax soli break and terrific ensemble passages.  The improvised solos are open and the whole ensemble shines with this high octane swinger that features outstanding and tight ensemble writing.
