"Percy Aldridge Grainer (1882-1961) originally wrote the string quartet, Molly on the Shore, as a birthday gift to his mother in 1907. It was only later, in 1920, that it was reworked into the wind band piece that we all know and love. It is certainly a timeless piece with much to offer in terms of style and technique. It is my hope that, with this new arrangement style, more people will have the opportunity to perform this piece." -Amber Sheeran
