Morena Faceira

Morena Faceira is based on two different folk songs from the state of Sao Paulo in southeastern Brazil. The first song simply describes a beautiful and charming brunette woman; in the second song, a boy is asking the brunette for a kiss - and promises her that no one will see it! This work portrays the initial spark we experience when we first fall in love - the feeling that is a combination of excitement, curiosity, enthusiasm, joy and stupidity! A cappella, with body percussion. Includes a translation and pronunciation guide for the Portuguese text.
