A sprightly setting of the hymn tune INVITATION includes two texts for different seasons in the church year. One text is for Christmas: Angels from the Realms of Glory and the other is for Easter: Christ Is Risen, Alleluia.  With a dance-like piano accompaniment, the settings are accessible and appropriate for both seasons.

A familiar hymn text is matched with the hymn tune LUCERNA LAUDONIAE. The flowing and calm choral treatment begins with the melody in unison moving among the vocal parts.  All voices sing the refrain, and an a cappella treatment in the third verse enhances the full harmonies. A soprano descant sings above the unison melody in the fourth verse, ending in SATB.

A soulful arrangement of this classic Christmas carol. Performed regularly in "A Soulful Christmas" at the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia. Optional performance notes are included in the publication.
