Moten Swing

Here's a take on Basie's seminal version of Moten Swing, recorded in 1959 and originally arranged by Ernie Wilkins. Aside from the piano solo introduction, all solos are improvised from the chords provided for piano, trumpet 2, and tenor 1. Included are all the little piano licks and drum fills, as well as all the articulations and dynamics, to enable bands to reproduce the original Basie sound. This is a relaxed, yet hard-swinging chart!
