Mountain Beauty

Written to portray the mountains along the North and South Carolina border, this light allegro overture is written in ABA form. With many dynamic contrasts, articulations to accomplish, and short soloistic opportunities, this is a great overture to use to teach these essential musical concepts. The legato middle section lets the ensemble focus on tone quality and phrasing. A return to the opening section's style ends this composition in an exciting manner. A great choice for concert or contest.
