Maybe the most famous and most beloved song about the importance of music. The keyboard part of Henry Purcells beautiful theatre music has been transcribed for a cappella choir with a solo voice. Henry Purcell wrote his song for the tragedy Oedipus in 1678. Gunnar Eriksson arranged the figured bass for mixed choir a cappella. This arrangement was later adapted for women's voices by Maria Gamborg Helbekkmo, conductor of the Norwegian choir Voci Nobili.
