Music Play 2

Build relationships with newborn and young children as you joyfully make music together! Affirm and nurture children's innate capacities for expressive music-making and movement, and honor and extend their expressed musical curiosities, ideas, and "audeas" (musical thoughts and ideas), by helping them realize that their musical identities are worth sharing, developing, and preserving.

 

Music Play 2 materials function in conjunction with Music Play and Music Learning Theory for Newborn and Young Children. Music Play 2 features:

• 116 music selections that offer a wide variety of tonalities, meters, and styles contributed by 57 expert practitioners from 13 countries
• Ideas corresponding to each music selection to help you notice and encourage creative, social engagement in music and movement play, and to facilitate your own creativity for guiding newborn and young children through the types and stages of preparatory audiation
• Guidance to support inclusion of all children and their families in music and movement play
• Examples of ways music and movement ideas align with PK-2 Artistic Process Standards featured in the National Association for Music Education 2014 Music Standards
