Soon after its founding in 1912, the Vitak-Elsnic Company began publishing original march compositions and arrangements by Frantisek Kmoch, the "Bohemian March King." Kmoch often has been compared to a contemporary, John Philip Sousa, America's undisputed march king. Muziky, Muziky March is an early Kmoch composition, for which sheet music was first published in Prague in 1891. The melody and the lyrics come from the Bohemian town of Ceske Budejovice, also known as Budwar, the home of the original Czech Budweiser Beer.
