My Mind's Attic

My Mind's Attic is a suite of six short movements for solo lead steelpan. Composed by Robert Martin for pan player Jason Baskin, the movements are distinguished by their individual musical characters and connected by their brief durations and Martin's mature melodic and harmonic ideas. This suite offers the experienced performer an opportunity to further expand technique and idiomatic concept of the instrument. The active harmonic development and sudden dynamic changes ensure the performer develops a consistent touch  from a variety of positions.
