My Music Book Series

This series of five sequential workbooks in separate reproducible sheets is based on American folksongs and children's rhymes. Use as worksheets, transparencies, or bound in book form. First Grade covers rhythmic elements of beat rhythm, ta, ti-ti and ta-rest, two-beat meter, and melodic elements of so and mi as well as la in a so-la-mi pattern. Second Grade covers the rhythmic elements of ta-a, four-beat meter, and melodic elements of la in a so-mi-la-so-mi pattern as well as do and re. Third Grade covers pentatonic scales, tiri-tiri, ti-tiri, tiri-ti, low la and low sol, do pentatonic scale, first and second endings, and introduces ABC letter names of notes. Fourth Grade covers syncopation, la pentatonic, dotted quarter notes, fa, half, and whole steps, and B-flat and F major key signatures. Fifth Grade covers re pentatonic, low ti, la pentachord, F-sharp, key of G major, ti, whole rest, ti-tam, upbeat, dotted half notes, three-beat meter, and tim-ri. New songs are introduced in addition to ideas for using barred instruments. Grades 1-5.
