John Myers

I compose works for full chorus, jazz ensembles/combos,chamber music, and solo guitar. I direct the jazz and world music programs for Bard College at Simon's Rock. I'm active as a performer in both jazz and Western classical.I studied Jazz composition with Hank Levy, Western classical composition with Tom Korth, ethnomusicology with Mantle Hood. My work for chorus and instruments "West Lake Cycle" won the Alice Parker award for creative programming.
