In 2004, the small Catholic seminary I attended studying for the priesthood needed an organist, so I began taking organ lessons and accompanying my fellow students at morning and evening prayer liturgies. I was not a very skilled organist so I acquired a music notation software package and began arranging easy-to-play versions of religious hymns. This was my introduction to the next phase of my life in music: arranging music for concert bands.
Since those first years arranging easy-to-play organ arrangements, I have arranged for concert band music by composers as varied as Ralph Vaughan Williams, Gustav Mahler, Erich Wolfgang Korngold, and Rick Wakeman. An original work I wrote is a march written in the style of Karl King but based on traditional song tunes later made famous by Elvis Presley. Most of these are available through my music publishing company: Robert Anello Music (http://robertanello.wixsite.com/robertanellomusic). show less
