YU Zhuen, is currently enrolled at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, where he is studying composition under the mentorship of Zhou Xianglin, the dean of the Composition and Conducting Department. His notable works include "Rising from the Sea's Depths to Touch the Celestial" "Chu Sacrificial Rites Love Song" "Quintet - for Clarinet and Strings" "Sunset Glow" "Sailing...to Reach an Isolated Island" and "Smelting and Forging". He has garnered numerous accolades, such as First Prize and the Ensemble Nomad Special Award in the 19th Sunriver Composition Competition, the Grand Prize in the AIMA Composition Competition, the Honorable Mention in the ICA Clarinet Composition Competition, First Prize in the 2023 Collection of Jingchu Style Chamber Music Works from the Wuhan Conservatory of Music, Third Prize in the 12th and 15th Chinese Collegiate Computing Competition (Composition Group), Second Prize in the 2023 JS Fest Composition Competition and Platinum Award in 2023 Best Classical Musician Awards. The works has been or will be performed in several major cities in China, Tokyo, Japan, and the United States.
