Dr. R. Christopher Teichler has been an active musician for over 30 years as composer, conductor, performer, and teacher. He studied composition at the Wheaton College Conservatory of Music (BM), and Northwestern University (MM, DM). Chris has taught composition, conducting, music theory, trumpet, as well as directing band and orchestra at the collegiate level. He has served on the faculties of Trinity International University, Wheaton College, Northwestern University and DePaul University. He is a member of the American Composers Forum, the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP), and the Christian Fellowship of Art Music Composers. From 2016 - 2020 he served as Composer-in-Residence for the MidCities Chamber Singers (Dallas/Fort Worth). Chris is currently Associate Professor of Music and Director of Instrumental Music at Tabor College (Hillsboro, KS), where he directs the instrumental ensembles and teaches music theory.
