I am a retired college dean. I currently live in Cathedral City, California. I hold a Bachelors degree from Berry College and Master of Arts degree from Vanderbilt University's Peabody College. I served in the US Army as an Instructor the Armys English Language School in Puerto Rico. I am an active member of ASCAP and ACDA (American Choral Directors Association). My primary interest is in choral music. My focus as a composer is music for church and community choirs. My roots run deep in the pine country of Southeast Georgia where I grew up in a small community whose social and spiritual center was the little, white-frame Baptist Church. There in the choir my musical journey began and continues today as a largely self-taught composer. The search for my home of the soul led me to the American Southwest where I also found my soul mate. The name of my business is Joshua Tree Music. -- James Way.
