His Violin Sonata was recorded by Vit Muzik and Lucie Kaucka and released on the album "In Tandem" in May 2019 by Navona Records.
Music from The Magnificent Ambersons was featured at the NMTE 2014 Fringe Show). A song from The Jurgens File was heard at the February 2013 NMTE Showcase). Both with frequent collaborator Brian Vinero.
His Festival Psalm was a finalist for the ALCM's Raabe Prize. Convergence (now available here), commissioned by the Century College Chamber Orchestra can be heard on YouTube. Recent performances include 2 commissioned works: "Toccata in 7/8" for band, and a "Pavane" for Chamber Orchestra. Both of these now available here at JW Pepper as are solo versions of the Pavane.
In addition to composing, Steve freelances as a film music reviewer/commentator, bassoonist, conductor, and keyboardist. A respected reviewer, his analyses of film and video game music appear in Film Score Monthly, Film Music Review, and on his Cinemusical blog where he also explores Classical music releases. Many of his reviews can also be found on composer, performer, and label sites.
