A cinematic story takes shape in this high school work for flex band that traces the eerie arrival and disappearance of a ghost ship in the night fog. The mysterious introduction includes a short fanfare making a statement of a once-proud ship, followed by a lyrical solo passage. The music transforms into a lively sea shanty, and an energetic 6/8 section brings the crew momentarily to life before the music slows, fades, and vanishes, offering rich contrast and broad teaching opportunities.
