Noe! Pastores, Cantate Domino

In a new setting of Bouzignac's Noe! Pastores, Somers draws inspiration from the compositional styles of Bach and attention to location from Gabrieli. This three-part antiphonal motet is written for three choral groups, each placed in a different location in the church. During the initial performance, the narrator/Evangelist (SSTT) was in one transept balcony, Gabriel (AABB) in the opposite transept balcony, and the shepherds (SATB) below by the altar. Handbells and organ complete the setting.
