My first arrangement of this wonderful tune, whose text was originally written in Latin. Uncharacteristically for me, I begin with a softer, more improvisatory first verse, then proceed to a faster, march-like vein for the second verse. The last verse begins with a three-layer effect: tune in the middle register, bass line below (both handled by the left hand) and a decorative passage in sixths high up in the right hand. In bar 82, you might ask how the left hand can play a chord with six notes. The key (pun intended), of course, is the thumb.
