O Come, O Come, Emmanuel

This haunting, modal carol is based on one of the earliest forms of sacred music known - the chant or plainsong. This unique two-part arrangement contrasts the rich melody in part 1 with a rhythmic, contemporary counterpoint in part 2. Real magic and a striking effect comes from a third line played by an alto flute or with a small group singing the melody on an "ah."
