This arrangement of the well-known 12th century carol is written for 3
part womens' voices with piano accompaniment.
It can be done in a trio or ensemble.
The traditional melody of the first verse changes by the third verse
into an ad lib solo of longing for the Lord's return. The piano accompaniment leads the listener
to the sky, with the vocal parts breaking into a joyful chorus of what it
would be like to actually see Jesus return.
It ends with the same quiet longing for His second advent.
