O Day of Peace That Dimly Shines

Carl Schalk's poignant prayer for peace opens with a plea for the end of conflict and closes with an adaptation of Isaiah 11:6-9: "Then the wolf will dwell with the lamb." In this atmospheric and timely arrangement, the text is paired with C.H.H. Parry's popular tune. The solo violin plays an integral role, sometimes playing the melody while accompanied by the SATB choir and piano.
