In this charming piece, the Ladino text (a derivative of Spanish) tells how, on each of the eight nights of Hanukkah, "matchmaking parties" were held, during which the young sang and danced while their parents and grandparents planned their children's weddings.  From the percussive pulses of the woodblock, triangle and piano, to the playful melody, to the rascally accents of the flute, this will invite every listener to join in the celebration!  Informative program notes, translation and pronunciation guide are included.
