It expresses a hope for help and comfort for all of those affected.Each movement of the composition attempts to convey altering radiance of emotion, from a state of inner reflection, varying from sadness to anger; from exasperation to hope, to at last restive peace. The structurally nature of the work calls for the use of vibrato and of various bow strokes, which include in turns: legato, loure, detache, martele, and staccato. It a great piece for the intermediate level string orchestra learning to relate the technical aspect to the musical aspect of interpretation.
