American composer Juliana Hall has written more than 50 song cycles and works of vocal chamber music for prestigious commissions and artists such as Dawn Upshaw and David Malis. This song cycle is based on seven texts by James Joyce and is set for contralto voice with piano accompaniment. The cycle consists of: I. Strings in the Earth and Air; II. Winds of May; III. Of That So Sweet Imprisonment; IV. In the Dark Pine-Wood; V. Bid Adieu; VI. At That Hour When All Things Have Repose; VII. O Cool Is the Valley. Each title is also available individually via ePrint.
