Written in memory of the great educator, Richard L. Auman. "One More
Parable" is meant to serve as the final lesson, or rather conversation
between the student and the master. Richard always had a way of crafting a
story during a music lesson, band rehearsal, or even just simple gathering
that not only entertained
you, but also provided a lesson in
the end.
Much like the parables told by Richard, the ballad opens with a grand
entrance of harmony and movement before bringing the listener to the heart of
the story via trombone (the featured soloist). Through various forms of
instrumental color and harmony, this ballad is sure to captivate audience
members with awe and wonder. No matter how much the student surpasses the
master, there is always one final lesson to be learned. You can find this
recording on the 2022 album "Gardyn Jazz Orchestra".
PLEASE NOTE: There are saxophone parts and a score that omit the doubles.
