Ouverture

Conceived as an opening work for wind ensemble, this overture draws inspiration from Greek mythology. Aiolos, son of Poseidon, is ruler of the winds and commands the four ancient gods of the cardinal point winds: Boreas, Zephyros, Euros, and Notos. Shaping calm breezes and violent storms alike, this elemental power is represented musically with energetic gestures and bold sonorities.
