This Spanish dance tune is by Tomas Pascual, a Mayan composer of the early seventeenth century. With a simple message celebrating the joy of living, it calls for accompaniment of maracas, bass drum, log or slat drum, djembe and finger cymbals, all of which create a festive, medieval sound. Singable in Spanish or English, this will work well as a processional or for madrigal festivals.
