Passageways

A consortium of 45 Soloists, ensembles, and universities commissioned Sekhon to compose a new work: Passageways for Solo Steel Drum and Percussion Ensemble. Representing nineteen U.S. states, the consortium consisting of 44 members have collectively commissioned a new work to be premiered around the United States. This work Passageways is scored for solo steel drum and percussion ensemble and is the most recent installment in his series of works for soloist and percussion orchestra. The consortium was organized by percussionist Dave Gerhart and the world premiere took place March 28, 2015 by the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestras Percussion Ensemble, Ben Wahlund, director, and soloist Dave Gerhart at the Logan Center for the Arts in Chicago, IL.
