Pastime

 This musical home run is no lightweight piece of music!  Although the composition is loosely woven around motives from the familiar Take Me Out to the Ballgame, it's a fascinating, intricate and entertaining concert work.  The composer has a lot of fun in the first segment of the piece working in hidden musical "salutes" to various baseball players, and the balance of the work is described as a "contrapuntal tour de force."  Play ball!
