You can hear the fife and drum in this setting by Matthew Compton with malleted bass bells and an original "fife" tune in the higher bells.  Things get more and more exciting until a sudden stop ushers in a windy little tune atop a cushion of Singing Bells.  This leads to a beautiful setting of The Huron Carol.  The music of the fife and drum returns for a rousing finish.
