"In the Bleak Mid Winter"is a beautiful medley that contrasts the lyricism of the opening carol, "In the Bleak Midwinter", with a lively 6/8 rendition of "Bring A Torch, Jeanette Isabella".
It is of medium level difficulty, and could be played by a good junior high school string group. It has a flowing viola part, and optional second cello part (not included in the score). There are interesting textures for all instruments in the dance-like middle section.

This is a fun and melodic arrangement of the old Scottish folk tune, The Water is Wide - Froggie Went A Courtin'. It has also become popular in American music. The arrangement is written for a mixed level cello ensemble, with Celli I - III at a medium difficulty and Cello IV with an easier part.

The “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen Medley for String Orchestra” encompasses a number of carols, including the opening title, “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen” which is influenced by the rich harmonies of 20th century English composers. It is followed by a lighter 6/8 section of “Here We Come A Wassailing”, and a closing carol, “DingDong Merrily on High”. There are a number of meter changes throughout, and it is of medium-advanced difficulty. “Ding Dong Merrily on High” is both boisterous and joyous, and is a lot of fun for all instruments.
