Perspective

Perspective is a modern modal medium-swing chart with some additional styles thrown in for fun. The opening bass ostinato pattern is based on a Yes tune, Owner of a Lonely Heart!  Over this, the melody is stated with various instrument color combinations. Improvised solo space for tenor sax 1 and trumpet 4 is primarily based on the Dorian mode and includes suggested scales. The chart dives into a modern wind ensemble section after the solos before it recaps the melody on its way out. Part of the Metroplexity Big Band series, this chart is highly recommended!
