This transcription for Concert Band of the first movement only of Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 is from the Dover 2001 Edition of the original Rachmaninoff score published in 1901 by Hawkes & Son. The solo part is identical to that (and hence most other) published scores, so soloists may use any edition (including the single-piano version included here). This transcription received its premiere by the Lesbian & Gay Big Apple Corps Band, Brian P. Worsdale, Artistic Director, with pianist James Adler and has since been performed throughout the world.
