A lovely a cappella excerpt for concert choirs from Crouch's major work "Road from Hiroshima," which was commissioned by Patrick Dupre Quigley and Seraphic Fire to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Hiroshima bombing. This is a meditative composition which uses ascending scale patterns to support an arching melodic line. Homophonic clouds of soft dissonances build to a climax before receding into a prayer for peace in the wake of tragedy.
