This American folk song about a plaintive soul on the journey through life originated in the 19th century. Arranged in the style of Alex Boye's recording, it begins with a solemn vocal drone over which a soloist performs the first verse. The whole ensemble comes in on the chorus, reminiscent of a traditional spiritual. This bluesy rendition incorporates a diversity of styles culminating in a huge final chorus.
