Composed in support of the human rights campaign in Burma on behalf of Christian Solidarity Worldwide "Prayer for Burma" is a hauntingly thought-provoking work for small orchestra. It does not set out to mimic the sounds of the region but rather uses western instruments to construct an impression. In this it succeeds very well as was admitted by a missionary who lived for five years in Rangoon. The percussion parts and the oboe part are advanced intermediate; the remaining parts are intermediate. 90% of the profits from this work are donated to Christian Solidarity Worldwide.
