This wind ensemble arrangement of Debussy's Afternoon of a Faun was done by John Philip Sousa in 1921. Copies of a 10 line autographed score (signed by John Philip Sousa, and dated March 29th, 1921), along with several manuscript parts and the original orchestra wind and horn parts existed, but there is no record of Sousa ever performing this work with his band. This was transcribed, edited, and performed on April 11, 2025 by the New Jersey Wind Symphony. It is a wonderful addition to the wind repertoire.
