Preludes

Robert Vandall's series of piano preludes has become a staple in the repertoire of any advancing pianist. This series happens to be the most popular of all the Vandall series and each prelude demonstrates and helps develop different techniques that all pianists should learn. There are three books in this series and each one is outstanding. These preludes are great to use as a warm-up or they can be used as a performance pieces as well. Some preludes in this series are written in irregular meter or with displaced accents and hemiolas. They are: No. 2 in D Major from book 1; No. 24 in Bb Minor from book 2; and No. 18 in F# Major, No. 20 in A Minor and No. 21 in Bb Major from book 3.
