This was my first a cappella choral work. I decided to use the text of two of my favorite Psalms that have overall contrasting tones. I tried to set the texts to music that emphasizes those different tones, but also helps unify them as a set. The movements can be performed separately, but it is recommended to do both. The complex harmonies and occasional chromaticism make this a difficult, but effective piece to perform for any advanced choir.
