Quality Time

This accessible ballad in the style of Count Basie emphasizes lyricism, lush harmonies, unified phrasing and a wide range of dynamics. The full ensemble has the memorable melody at the top and continues for most of the work. There are short written or improvised solos for trumpet and trombone followed by a large ensemble section, it's playable with optional reduced or expanded instrumentations, and a guitar chord chart is included. A wonderful change of pace for young jazz bands!
