Quartet in F Major

This arrangement reimagines Maurice Ravel's String Quartet in F Major as a duo for violin and piano. The violin part has been arranged to incorporate more of the lead thematic material than found in the original Quartet's Violin I part alone, borrowing material from the Violin II, Viola, and Cello parts where appropriate. The piano arrangement has been constructed to make the original string writing more idiomatic for the piano, adding or removing notes where necessary, as well as approximating effects and textures more idiomatic to the strings. Despite these changes, great lengths have been taken to preserve as much of the integrity of Ravel's music as possible while presenting a new but respectful way of experiencing and enjoying this chamber work masterpiece.
