Quest for Freedom

Drawing on popular patriotic songs from both the Union and Confederacy, this concert band work explores the contrasting musical voices of the Civil War era. Careful treatment of original introductions, interludes, and stylistic elements supports historical understanding and musical interpretation, and optional SAB choir parts add programming flexibility. A valuable selection for high school ensembles for traditional and patriotic programming.
