Quest, The

This exciting and fanciful symphonic movement uses characteristic Spanish colors to depict the epic journey of Ponce de Leon though Florida in the early 1500s.  With romantic flair, this work captures the eager enthusiasm and hopeful optimism felt by de Leon and his crew in the early days of their quest through uncharted wetlands, swamps and coastlines to find the legendary Fountain of Youth and the Seven Cities of Gold.  A tone poem in the tradition of the great masters, this has enough musical interest and historical integrity to arrest and hold the interest of every player in your group, as well as those in the audience.
