La plus que lente, L. 121. "The more than slow"), is a waltz
  for solo piano written by Claude Debussy in 1910, shortly after his
  publication of the Priludes, Book I.The piece debuted at the New Carlton
  Hotel in Paris, where it was transcribed for strings and performed by the
  popular 'gipsy' violinist, Lioni, for whom Debussy wrote it (and who was

  in this context, refers to the valse lente genre that Debussy attempted to

This, I  feel gives a bit of variation, and interest to the players!! Ideal for that  quiet reflective wedding moment.

DESCRIPTION        Beethoven's Piano Sonata No.14 in C# minor (Sonata quasi una Fantasia)  Op.27. No.2, Mvt.1 also known as the "Moonlight Sonata" is probably  the best known of his compositions.                Unlike other arrangements you may finda  I have taken the unusual step of removing a large proportion of the  triplet accompaniment figure, which is found in the original piano  composition.        Other arrangers for wind quintet tend give this figure, as a rule, to the  clarinettist, who plays the triplets all the way through the piece. (Brass  quintets the horn etc etc).        I have tried to arrange it as though it had been originally written for the  wind quintet.                My arrangement retains some of the triplets (the rising arpeggios) and  sometimes uses the triplets on one note to add dramatic effect (particularly  on the horn.        The net result is more of a chorale, but I feel it does retain the forward  movement from the original with the use of moving staccato crotchets (quarter  notes)         I have transposed this arrangement into D minor from the original C sharp  minor.        The clarinet part is for clarinet in Bb        The horn part is playable on a natural horn in F

An English Suite

The 1st movement (of 6) of Warlock's Capriol Suite. The Capriol Suite is  a set of dances composed in October 1926 by Peter Warlock, and is considered  one of his most popular works. Originally written for piano duet, Warlock  later scored it for both string and full orchestras. According to the  composer, it was based on tunes in Thoinot Arbeau's Orchsographie, a manual  of Renaissance dances. Nevertheless, Warlock's biographer, Cecil Gray, said  that "if one compares these tunes with what the composer has made of  them it will be seen that to all intents and purposes it can be regarded as  an original work."

Probably Beethovens' best known piano piece.                Correct Title Bagatelle No.25 in A minor WoO 59 ; Fr Therese                aI have tried to arrange this as  though Beethoven had written it for wind quintet.                Rather than simply using Beethoven's rather sparse score, I have adapted it  for the wind quintet                I have given the horn sustaining notes to "bind it"  together.                I have reduced the tempo for the middle section, although this can be  ignored if your wind players can play it!                The horn part is written for natural horn in F which gives it an authentic  classical feel.                It should be performed with a little rubato.

Fur Elise (Bagatelle No.25 in A minor) WoO 59

Mozart composed this set of three Teutsche (German Dances) in the early  months of 1791. The three dances of K. 605 are usually listed with the six  dances of K. 600 and the four of K. 602 as Dreizehn deutsche Tnze (Thirteen  German Dances). The pieces first appear on 12 February 1791 on Mozart's List  of all my Works, and are the penultimate set of German Dances that Mozart  would compose before his death on 5 December 1791.        Dance 3 Schlittenfahrt: This dance may have been written independently of  the other 2, as it is very different in style. Schlittenfahrtmeans  "Sleigh Ride"; the use of sleigh bells in the piece clearly  emphasises this.         In the trio the flautist could play sleigh bells in lieu of the piano  quarter notes.        aMozart wrote for 5 tuned sleigh  bells        It is arranged here for wind quintet. Optional horn part in C basso  provided.        Something different for your Christmas gig!

A Selection of Medieval  and Unusual Carols

Arranged for standard brass quintet of 2 trumpets, horn. trombone and  tuba.                The Turkish March (Marcia alla turca) is a well-known classical march theme  by Ludwig van Beethoven. It was written in the Turkish style popular in music  of the time.                                The theme was first used in Beethoven's "6 Variations on an Original  Theme", Op. 76, of 1809. In 1811 Beethoven wrote an overture and  incidental music to a play by August von Kotzebue called The Ruins of Athens  (Op. 113), which premiered in Pest in 1812. The Turkish March appears as item  No. 4 of the incidental music. Many music lovers associate the theme with The  Ruins of Athens, although that was not its original appearance.                                The original march is in B flat major, tempo vivace and 2/4 time. Its  dynamic scheme is highly suggestive of a procession passing by, starting out  pianissimo, poco a poco rising to a fortissimo climax and then receding back  to pianissimo by the coda. Unlike much of Beethoven's other orchestral music,  the woodwinds are the dominant voice rather than the strings.                I have transposed it to Eb major to suit the brass instruments'  ranges.                                In my arrangement the melody is held by the three "top"  instruments.                                The tuba takes the bass line, and the trombone adds harmony                                It is quite short and is tutti throughout.

Brass Quintet

Arranged for wind quintet.Clarinet in A/Bb also provided.The opening of the 4th mvt, when the famous theme first appears.(on double bass in the orchestra: on bassoon and clarinet in my wind quintet arrangement) It ends with a tutti arrangement of that theme.
